Reptiles are generally intriguing animals, also very fascinating as pets. I often heard that it is more difficult to keep a reptile as a pet than a cat or dog. Well, I disagree. All pets need a lot of time and attention.
One of the first things to purchase as new reptile pet owner is a reptile habitat, a reptile tank, a reptarium, in the appropriate size of course.
Updated 2017: new products added!
There are many different reptiles as pets available with different requirements. Most of the reptile habitats answer well to these requirements through their versatility and adaptability. First of all make sure that the reptile tank is big enough for your pet reptile. You might take into consideration that your little reptile pet will grow and eventually outgrow its habitat.
Generally said small tanks are best for smaller reptiles such as lizards, turtles and geckos. Big tanks are perfect for snakes and iguanas. The advantage of getting a bigger reptile tank in the first place is that you can place more decoration in it and provide more room for your pet’s daily moves.
Good reptile tanks come as all glass tank or as acrylic tank. Both are great. Acrylic material makes a tank lighter. If you need to move your tank regularly, this would be your choice. Reptile tanks need to be tightly sealed, guaranteed by acrylic and glass tanks.
Another point to consider is the safety of you and your pet. Is your reptile very swift, choose a reptile tank with two doors in order to keep your agile little pet in its home – when you clean the tank, place a decoration in it or feed your pet.
Some reptile tanks come already with inlets for wires for heating purposes. If your reptile pet requires special temperature and humidity, your choice may fall on one of these more elaborate reptile tank models.

Great tank for a leopard gecko! Twice the size of a 10 gallon!
This is a great terrarium. My leopard gecko is a happy camper. It makes it so much easier to feed her and clean out her living quarters. The cords can run nicely behind the foam backing so they are hidden from view.
This Terrarium is made really well. We love how the front opens as it does. Makes feeding the Geckos so much easier.

My pacman frog has called this terrarium home for about 2 years now. The terrarium is made very well and the glass doors are very convenient. The terrarium holds heat well and is elevated so you can put a heater under it.
Great terrarium! Our bearded dragon loves it. Great sight lines and loved the “rock” wall background that comes with it.
I bought this to add Pygmy Chameleons to my reptile room. It seems to be much sturdier. I would recommend this to any reptile owner from beginner to advanced keepers.
